Furthering Japanese Studies in the UK since 1974

The 性视界传媒 is a UK-based charity of scholars and students dedicated to researching, teaching, and publishing about Japan. It organises conferences and provides funding to support students in this field. New members are always welcome and will join a thriving and friendly community with a diverse range of interests, but all united in seeking to expand the frontiers of knowledge about Japan and the Japanese.

BAJS was established in 1974 and the Association was launched in order to promote the study of Japan both in the United Kingdom and internationally, in particular by stimulating teaching and research.

Membership of BAJS is open to anyone with an interest in supporting the study of Japan in the UK. Membership includes subscription to the Association’s journal, Japan Forum, and reduced rate attendance at the Association’s conferences.

BAJS has a thriving Japan Chapter to allow members conducting research in Japan to interact with other scholars in the country.
